Ltd.</publisher-name></publisher></journal-meta><article-meta><article-id pub-id-type="doi">10.26689/IEF.v4i8.15280</article-id><article-categories><subj-group subj-group-type="heading"><subject>Article</subject></subj-group></article-categories><title>Study on the Application Effect of CBL Combined with Standardized Patient (SP) Teaching Model in Clinical Teaching of Residents in Respiratory Medicine</title><url>https://artdesignp.com/journal/IEF/4/8/10.26689/IEF.v4i8.15280</url><author>NiuJing,DuJie</author><pub-date pub-type="publication-year"><year>2026</year></pub-date><volume>4</volume><issue>8</issue><history><date date-type="pub"><published-time>2026-08-31</published-time></date></history><abstract>Objective: To explore the application value of case‑based learning (CBL) combined with a standardized patient (SP) teaching model in the clinical teaching of residents during standardized residency training in respiratory medicine, and to compare the training effects between the traditional teaching model and the CBL+SP combined model, so as to provide practical evidence for optimizing the teaching program in respiratory medicine residency training. Methods: A total of 98 residents who rotated through the Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine in our hospital from July 2023 to July 2025 were selected as study subjects and randomly divided into a control group (n=49, receiving traditional lecture‑based LBL teaching) and an observation group (n=49, receiving CBL combined with SP teaching model) using a random number table. The training period was 3 months. After training, the two groups were compared in terms of theoretical examination scores, clinical comprehensive ability (assessed by the Mini‑CEX scale), and skill operation examination scores; teaching satisfaction was surveyed using a self‑designed questionnaire. Results: The theoretical examination scores, skill operation scores, Mini‑CEX sub‑domain scores, and overall teaching satisfaction in the observation group were all higher than those in the control group (all P&amp;lt;0.05). Conclusion: The CBL combined with SP teaching model can effectively enhance residents&amp;rsquo; theoretical mastery, clinical practical ability, doctor‑patient communication, and clinical reasoning skills in respiratory medicine, with higher teaching satisfaction.
