The prevalence of malnutrition among patients with PLC after surgery is also high, which raises the risk of mortality and complications and negatively influences the overall assessment of the effectiveness of the therapy and prognosis. Physiological compatibility, maintenance of the intestinal barrier function, and regulation of immune responses make enteral nutrition (EN) a commonly used nutritional support method in the postoperative period following PLC surgery. The article is a systematic review of the short- and long-term consequences of EN in postoperative PLC patients. As has been shown by existing evidence, early short-term EN can speed up the recovery of gastrointestinal function, significantly enhance postoperative liver function indicators (ALT, AST, and ALB), raise CD3⁺ and CD4⁺ T cell counts, and decrease the amount of inflammatory cytokines, including TNF‑&amp;alpha; and IL-6. Nutritional status is significantly associated with long-term survival in PLC patients, and EN appears to have the potential benefits in enhancing quality of life and long-term survival.
<keywords>Enteral nutrition, Primary liver cancer, Liver function, Immune function, Nutritional status</keywords></article-meta></front><body/><back><ref-list><ref id="B1" content-type="article"><label>1</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>[1]&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Cao G, 2026, Main Epidemiological Data and Suggestions for Prevention and Control Measures of Primary Liver Cancer.
