Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) is a safe and effective rehabilitation treatment method&amp;nbsp;that is increasingly being used in stroke rehabilitation therapy. This article reviews its current application status in treating various aspects such as limb swelling and spasms after stroke, explores its mechanism of action, clinical efficacy, and limitations, and provides a reference for clinical application.
<keywords/></article-meta></front><body/><back><ref-list><ref id="B1" content-type="article"><label>1</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>Yang XY, 2022, Research on Self-efficacy, Stroke Health Knowledge, Self-management Status, and Their Relationships Based on the Trajectory of Chronic Diseases in First-time Stroke Patients, thesis, Chengdu Medical College.</p><pub-id pub-id-type="doi"/></element-citation></ref><ref id="B2" content-type="article"><label>2</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>Wang LD, Peng B, Zhang HQ, et al., 2020, Summary of “China Stroke Prevention and Treatment Report 2020”.
