Ltd.</publisher-name></publisher></journal-meta><article-meta><article-id pub-id-type="doi">10.26689/erd.v6i11.8912</article-id><article-categories><subj-group subj-group-type="heading"><subject>Article</subject></subj-group></article-categories><title>A Review of “Sichuan Mandarin” in the Studies of Eastern Sichuan Dialects</title><url>https://artdesignp.com/journal/erd/6/11/10.26689/erd.v6i11.8912</url><author>TangHuiling</author><pub-date pub-type="publication-year"><year>2024</year></pub-date><volume>6</volume><issue>11</issue><history><date date-type="pub"><published-time>2024-11-22</published-time></date></history><abstract>The promotion of Mandarin has a great impact on the use and protection of dialects, but in return, the local dialects are also influencing or even transforming Mandarin, and thus Mandarin with strong regional characteristics has been formed in many dialect areas. “Sichuan Mandarin” mainly refers to the non-standard Mandarin spoken by Sichuan people due to the influence of some language elements, their coordination and the law of change. Taking Eastern Sichuan dialects as an example, this paper reviews the relevant studies and probes into the phonetic features of “Sichuan Mandarin” from the perspective of phonetics. At the same time, the article also discusses the following: (1) the popularization of Mandarin should be implemented appropriately; (2) dialects are supposed to be protected well; and (3) an inclusive and positive attitude should be taken towards “Sichuan Mandarin.”</abstract><keywords/></article-meta></front><body/><back><ref-list><ref id="B1" content-type="article"><label>1</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>Duan H, 2024, Research on Teaching Strategies of Mandarin Chinese in the New Era.
