However, current college English teaching often overemphasizes linguistic knowledge and test-taking skills while neglecting the cultivation of intercultural communication competence and awareness. As a result, students lack authentic intercultural communication ability. Integrating the development of intercultural communication competence effectively into English classroom teaching has therefore become a key issue in higher education.
