A total of 306 valid questionnaires were collected in different regions using the Short Video Addiction Scale, the Fear of Missing Out Scale, and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). The results showed that short video addiction can not only directly affect the sleep quality of college students, but also indirectly disrupt their sleep patterns by increasing the level of fear of missing out. The above results suggest that behavioral addiction and cognitive emotional mechanisms contribute to sleep disorders in college students.
