The core treatment goal of ischemic stroke is to restore blood flow as early as possible, while the pathological mechanism of reperfusion injury after restoring blood flow is complex, involving oxidative stress, calcium overload, and inflammatory response. In recent years, more and more studies have found that ferroptosis mediation is involved in the occurrence and development of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury. This paper elaborates on the concept, mechanisms, and regulation of ferroptosis, detailing its role in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury and potential inhibition strategies. The aim is to deepen the understanding of ferroptosis in this pathological process and provide insights for possible targeted therapies.
<keywords/></article-meta></front><body/><back><ref-list><ref id="B1" content-type="article"><label>1</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>Barthels D, Das H, 2020, Current Advances in Ischemic Stroke Research and Therapies.
