We discussed the imperatives and messages repeated since March 2020 in the media that transmit a false idea of freedom of choice concerning individual protection, while the State, reinforcing the neoliberal ideology and producing feelings of failure, guilt, and fear materially leaves a large part of the population unprotected. Then, we articulated notions about neoliberalism and the lack of social protection on how death management has been conducted during the pandemic. Finally, we reflected on the possibility of weather insurgency and promoted the idea that the established solidarity networks are expressions of solidarity and class identity based on what resembles us as humans.
<keywords/></article-meta></front><body/><back><ref-list><ref id="B1" content-type="article"><label>1</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>Aggio C, 2021, The Pandemic and Our Ancient Scourges, Carta Capital Magazine. https://www.cartacapital.com.br/opiniao/a-pandemia-e-nossos-antigos-flagelos/</p><pub-id pub-id-type="doi"/></element-citation></ref><ref id="B2" content-type="article"><label>2</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>Butler Judit, 2019, Precarious Living: The Powers of Grief and Violence, Verso, London, 122.</p><pub-id pub-id-type="doi"/></element-citation></ref><ref id="B3" content-type="article"><label>3</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>Casara R, 2021, Against Neoliberal Misery: Rationality, Normativity, and Imaginary, Literatura Autónoma, São Paulo.</p><pub-id pub-id-type="doi"/></element-citation></ref><ref id="B4" content-type="article"><label>4</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>Dardot E, Laval C, 2014, The New Reason of The World: An Essay on Neoliberal Society, Boitempo, São Paulo.</p><pub-id pub-id-type="doi"/></element-citation></ref><ref id="B5" content-type="article"><label>5</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>Davis AY, 2018, Freedom is a Constant Struggle, Haymarket Books, Chicago, 158.</p><pub-id pub-id-type="doi"/></element-citation></ref><ref id="B6" content-type="article"><label>6</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>Fanon F, 2008, Black Skin, White Masks, EDUFBA, Salvador, 232.</p><pub-id pub-id-type="doi"/></element-citation></ref><ref id="B7" content-type="article"><label>7</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>Flores JH, 2009, The Reinvention of Human Rights, BOITEUX Foundation, Florianópolis.</p><pub-id pub-id-type="doi"/></element-citation></ref><ref id="B8" content-type="article"><label>8</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>Harvey D, 2011, The Enigma of Capital: and the Crises of Capitalism, Oxford University Press, Oxford, 320.</p><pub-id pub-id-type="doi"/></element-citation></ref><ref id="B9" content-type="article"><label>9</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>Heller I, 2014, Everyday Life and History, Paz y Tierra, São Paulo.</p><pub-id pub-id-type="doi"/></element-citation></ref><ref id="B10" content-type="article"><label>10</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>Marx C, 2011, The 18th Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte, Progress Publishers, Moscow.</p><pub-id pub-id-type="doi"/></element-citation></ref><ref id="B11" content-type="article"><label>11</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>Mascaro AL, 2020, Crisis and Pandemic: Crisis Pandemic Collection, Editora Boitempo, São Paulo.</p><pub-id pub-id-type="doi"/></element-citation></ref><ref id="B12" content-type="article"><label>12</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>Mbembe A, 2017, Politics of Enmity, Antígona, Lisboa.</p><pub-id pub-id-type="doi"/></element-citation></ref><ref id="B13" content-type="article"><label>13</label><element-citation publication-type="journal"><p>Mbembe A, 2016, Necropolitics.
