With the surge in the use of electric vehicles driven by technological advancements and government-supported policies, it is imperative to ensure the sustainability of these vehicles throughout their life cycle to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change. This article takes a closer look at the challenges to the environment associated with the manufacturing, use, and end-of-life phases of EVs, with a particular focus on the complexities of recycling batteries, providing a detailed assessment of the progress and barriers to EV recycling as well.
