Early virtue ethics highlighted the significant differences between ancient and modern moral philosophies and sought to offer virtue-based solutions. While these theories identified the flaws in modern moral philosophy, they also faced criticism from other schools of normative ethics. At the same time, the theoretical ideas emerging from this early revival laid the foundation for the development of later theories, such as those of Hursthouse.Revival of Virtue Ethics, Anscombe, MacIntyre, Modern moral philosophy
